Global Athlete Leadership Council

Álvaro Brochero Carreño is a Special Olympics athlete from Venezuela. He is 30 years old and is studying Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica Antonio José de Sucre. He works in the academy of “Futuros Vinotinto”as a football trainer for children. He is also a fitness trainer of Conmebol and cross fit.

Álvaro has participated in national and regional games representing Venezuela with great pride. In 2020 he was elected as President of the Special Olympics Latin America Regional Athlete Leadership Council. Currently he is part of the group of Sports Directors of Special Olympics, responsible for planning and organizing the Unified Football World Cup that will be held in Detroit in July 2022.
