Special Olympics and the FIBA Foundation have signed a Proclamation in support of each other’s organizations to develop and improve the quality of basketball for Special Olympics athletes. FIBA Foundation is the social and legacy arm of FIBA that addresses the role of sports and particularly basketball in society, preserving and promoting basketball’s values and its cultural heritage. The FIBA Foundation and Special Olympics International partnership was established on 16 June 2019 with the aim to promote basketball as a tool for social development and inclusion.
